Sexual Orientation and HIV/AIDS Awareness of Thai Youth in the Cyber World

Thai youth perceived gays or bisexuals as common. However, if a close friend reveals him/herself to being gay or bisexual, the acceptance level becomes lower. Thai youths who have never had sexual experience tend to have more acceptances towards homosexuality and bisexuality than people who have had sexual experience. Nearly half of gay and bisexual youths accepted that men have sex with men is not at risk for HIV/AIDS. It was highlighted that the Thai youth who had accepted themselves as homosexual and bisexual were more likely to access to the internet for sexual learning and sexual advice compare to people who identified themselves as heterosexual.
